Lot's of stuff on so haven't really been able to do much. I'm currently still just working on the fight system. Making a rough tutorial level. After this I think I will take a break from it and make some point and click stuff... if I have time between all my other responsibilities.

Just some quick notes:
Still working on fight system, not put together a full fight yet. Even when I do finish one it will be very rough, just an example of what one could be like in game. Just building all the more basic elements first.
Thinking a lot also about how gameplay elements will relate to things in the main story. It's hard to create a fun game that somewhat represents a (basically) mental battle against an opponent.

This evening I finally put together a very rough outline for how the first stage of the battle system will work. When I have had the time and interest to mess about with it over the past few months, I had only touched the text system, and I made a rough outline of how point-and-click stages will work.
I'm still just messing about at the moment and seeing what works, but for the moment I think the battle system (for these basic enemies) will have two stages.
Identifying the enemy
Fighting it (or maybe leaving it, or maybe some third option?)
As I said, this here is the first stage. I think the second stage will be more turn based, rather than reaction based.
The video below shows the rough prototype I made. The squiggle that moves about is the placeholder for the cursor. The first screen is just a part of the testing menu's I made.
The flashing indicates that the player is losing health, but I haven't bothered implementing it yet.
It's definitely very rough.
